Experience
Bob Vermeulen, 45, directs a group of master’s degree statisticians who help businesses with direct marketing, such as mail, email, websites and targeted on-line advertising. He regularly manages 25 to 30 projects than can extend for a few days to as long as a year or more. His expertise encompasses setting priorities, resource allocation, personnel development, budgeting and customer service.
He has served on the Golden Vision 2030 Citizen's Advisory Committee, the Golden Citizen's Budgetary Advisory Committee, is a regular attendee at the Golden Downtown Merchants Association, was President of a home owners association, is active in the Cub Scouts, the Mitchell PTA and has served on the Jefferson County School District's Mitchell Budget Advisory Committee.
Personal
Vermeulen was born and raised in Minnesota, earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Texas Tech University. He worked in marketing for major telecommunications companies in Denver and served as Senior Marketing Manager for American Skiing Company, a company that held seven world class ski resorts based in Utah before moving back to Colorado.
He is also a recreational triathlete and cyclist who competes in triathlons throughout the region. Most recently he and his wife rode the Copper Triangle and he participated in the inaugural Kansas 70.3 Half-Ironman. He also likes to hike the north and south table mesas with his spouse, Beth, and children Bobby, 7, and Anna, 5.
Beth is the co-Secretary of the Mitchell School PTA for 2009/2010. This past year she coordinated a reading program at Mitchell and helped raise over $23,000 for the effort. She is also the League Coordinator and on the Board for a large tennis association. She has a BS degree in Journalism from the University of Colorado and has work experience as a marketing director and a paralegal.
